Beginning on 8 May 2026, this bespoke trip brought six guests to Fukuoka for a relaxed few days of food, neighbourhood walks and cultural discoveries. Joshua Pang co-led the journey with Koh Doh Tat and planned the food itinerary, drawing on favourites from previous visits and seeking out new places to share.
There was plenty to eat: inventive mentaiko dishes, exquisite sushi, grilled eel, comforting motsunabe and ramen, with coffee, sake and whisky along the way.
The food itinerary was tailored to the group's tastes and adjusted as the trip unfolded. Beyond choosing restaurants, Joshua considered walking distances, seating arrangements and dishes to suit everyone's preferences.
Between meals, there was time to visit Yufuin Onsen, browse shops, explore temples and galleries, or simply enjoy an afternoon nap back at the hotel. The idea was to share the Fukuoka Joshua enjoys: good food within walking distance, small places worth seeking out, and enough breathing room to enjoy the company.
